This term saw students from all year groups attend the second of Frome College’s whole school Careers Talks o Wednesday 12 February.  Eighteen different talks were organised and students selected either the one they wanted to attend closest to their career interests, or an industry, which they knew nothing about.

Talks included microbiology, data, translation & interpreting, creative industries & TV production- including film, media and games.  Others included law, the building materials industry, journalism, hospital operating theatres and Virgin Media customer services.

Marston Foods spoke about the many careers available in the food industry, including human resources.  In psychology, careers such as applied psychologist - focusing on clinical psychology - were discussed, along with martial arts and animal physiotherapy.  The Coventry Building Society enlightened students on careers in banking and internship, on top of Year 10 CVs, student finance and advice on any Year 13 students who may wish to pursue a gap year abroad.

Our thanks go out to all the companies who gave up their time to attend the talks and inspire our young people. We would love to hear from anyone who has a career they would like to share with our students at our next event on Thursday 9 July, please contact us via email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
