Frome College website

The College has set up a highly successful News Desk and we have a regular double page feature in the Frome Standard which is published on the last Thursday of each month.

The team include student reporters writing articles and reviews about life in College from music gigs, art exhibitions, trips, theatre performances, sports events, general news from around the College and activities that students have been involved in from their own perspective.

This is a great opportunity for students wishing to develop real work experience with the biggest publication group in the area. The group also includes the Western Daily Press, the Bath Chronicle, the Wells Journal and the Somerset Guardian and in total has a regional circulation of around 120,000 and readership of well over 300,000.

It also runs the new, highly successful Somerset Live website at somersetlive.co.uk which regularly attracts well over 100,000 users a day.

The News Desk has also received funding from Frome Town Council to purchase mobile recording equipment to do regular news broadcasts on Radio FromeFM 96.9fm. The student led College Radio Club now has it's own show called Frome College Matters and can be found at here.
