Frome College welcomed a full house on Thursday 26 September, when it opened its doors for everyone to come and see the largest range of courses in the area, and all that it offers the students who attend.

Music students entertained visitors and Principal, Ms Reynolds gave an inspirational speech about the excellent exam results, and the commitment to continue development of the school and ensure every child receives a well-rounded education to reach their full potential.  She spoke proudly about the continued success, and the aspirations and expectations of the school, generating great life chances for every student. Ms Reynolds highlighted the choices in the important key areas, and a progression curriculum, which begins in Year 9, right through to the post sixteen stages, making a seamless transition in to Sixth Form.

Representatives from Year 9 and the Student Union followed by talking about their experiences at the College and assured the audience how easy the transition had been from previous schools with such a supportive pastoral care system, and the great sense of community. They also spoke about the large range of activities and participation opportunities available, such as trips, Drama productions, and the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.

Assistant Principal, Mrs West, finished the sessions with information to parents about the evening ahead, offering personal student guides to accompany them around the subject areas, and discuss the options available.

It was fantastic to see so many families participating in activities, and there were plenty of opportunities for everyone to have refreshments throughout the evening. Music students played in various locations around the campus, adding to the great atmosphere.

If you were unable to attend the Open Evening, please do not hesitate to contact the College on 01373 465353 to arrange a tour of the campus and discuss the wide range of options available.

Sixth Form Open Evening is on Thursday 14 November at 5.30pm.
