Frome College held their second big Careers Talks event on Wednesday the 10 January. All students were able to select from a wide range of subjects to attend, to best suit their aspirations or to explore new unknown career opportunities.
We would like to thank our visitors who came from a wide range of disciplines:
- Fudge making, retail and entrepreneurship was talked about by Paul Stewart.
- Johannes Moeller from Edventure discussed developing businesses. 
- Actor Pip Utton discussed a career in performance and acting. 
- Cath Hirons and a team of nurses from Frome Hospital explained the realities of this dedicated career path.
- Mile Cox from Childs & Sulzmann Architects gave an insight into working in architecture and shaping the world we live in by creating and designing spaces, buildings and cities.
- A career in Graphic Design was explained by Jeremy Knibbs from Knibbs Design. 
- Alex Johnson and Jenny Rutter from Nova Sports & Coaching, a new company which provides more opportunities for individuals with disabilities to take part in sport, discussed their work.
- Running a College was discussed by Frome College’s own Principal, Emma Reynolds, and Business Manager, Jane Hutton. 
- Issues women face in entering the workforce – was the topic presented by Jane Woods, who is a guest speaker on Women's Hour, and runs a company which trains women in business. She is interested in developing young women and seeing more women in positions of power.
- Social Marketing was the topic for discussion by Tanya Anderson: Founder of the Women in Business Networking Lounge in Frome, and owner of her own personal brand ‘The Motivational Entrepreneur’.
- A Career in Commodities & Logistics focused on Africa & the Middle East was the topic discussed by Andrew Barr-Sim from Vallis Commodities.
