Two teams of students from Frome College are through to the Cybercenturion Competition Final - This is the 3rd consecutive year we have students in this prestigouse final!
Maggie Love, Cybercenturion Project Lead said: “I'm delighted to report that for the 3rd year running, Frome College students are through to the National Final of the Cybercenturion Competition.
Three Frome College teams have been taking part over the last 13 weeks, with a total of 5 online competitions, each lasting 6 hours on Sundays. For many of the students this was their first time in the competition, and with only the top 10 teams in the country going through to the finals, the pressure was on.
With the scores in, we have succeeded in having two teams through to the final! We thought at first, one team may have just been edged out of the top 10 at the last minute – literally, when another team scored 4 points, putting them ahead.  But once the scores were in, we had beaten them! Our third team acquitted themselves very well being 14th nationally! It’s a shame that only the top 10 get through to the last stage, but having two in the final is incredible.”
Our congratulations go to our 3 teams for such outstanding achievements! They are:-
Team Name: ‘Vault 7’ In the final
  • Tom Haines
  • Matt Haines
  • Connor Cairns
  • Hamish Murray
  • Jake Howell
Team Name: ‘<Insert Name Here>’ In the final!
  • Joe Malley
  • Morgan Curle
  • Dylan Oliver
  • Adam Kerslake
Team name: Order 66 Finished 14th in UK!
  • James Kerley
  • Adrian Nouchin
  • Jack Flagg
  • Toby Paton
The National Final of the competition will take place at the Institute of Engineering & Technology in London on Thursday 8 March - Watch this space!
Thanks must also go to the IT Technicians, the site team and admin staff, who have been so helpful in providing logistical support.  Good luck to both our teams in the final!
